The Trump administration plans to reinterpret the Endangered Species Act so that protected wildlife unintentionally killed by foreseeable risks from activities such as commercial fishing or logging would no longer be considered unlawfully taken. The changes also redefine “harm” and remove some protections. Twenty Democratic-led states and Washington, DC, are suing over the overhaul.
