Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Defense Minister, Major General Talaybek Sharsheev, called the CIS members’ joint air defense system one of the most effective mechanisms for coordinating protection of their airspace. He said rapidly changing military-political conditions and new threats make stronger collective security, operational coordination and information exchange especially important.
