ScienceResearchers replace much of a mouse cortex with human brain cells
A Stanford University research group described replacing a large portion of a mouse brain, genetically removed beforehand, with cells from a human brain organoid. The approach could provide a more natural setting for studying organoids, which model specialized cells and tissue structures but lack features such as blood circulation, immune cells, and connections to other brain structures.
