A presentation by Health Minister Mikhail Murashko projects that Russians aged 60 and over could make up 25.4% of the population by 2030, up from 24.4% in 2025. People above working age account for under a quarter of the population but more than 30% of hospital admissions and ambulance calls; a 70-year-old uses 5.5 times more compulsory health insurance resources than a 30-year-old.
