Becky Jones was told at 21 that she had terminal brain cancer and might have only months to live, then underwent 11 years of chemotherapy. At 34, she learned that she had actually had brain inflammation treatable with steroids. She is among more than 40 patients taking legal action over alleged excessive or unnecessary treatment at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. A preliminary Royal College of Physicians review found little evidence of benefit from prolonged use of the drug in the cases examined.
