About 2,000 Romanian farmers and shepherds protested in Bucharest against extending an EU-backed ban on live sheep exports imposed over a contagious livestock disease. Some protesters threw rocks and other objects at police, who used tear gas. Twenty-six people were detained, 24 needed medical attention and four were hospitalised. Far-right groups supported the rally.
