TechBoston dumps Flock after nationwide data sharing violated contract

Boston officials say the city abandoned Flock Safety’s license-plate reader cameras after a vendor error led to nationwide data sharing in breach of the contract. The police department had tested about 45 automated license-plate readers from April through September 2025, with the unauthorized sharing occurring during the pilot’s first few days.
