Organizers of the International Youth Festival at Yekaterinburg Expo reportedly gave foreign visitors access to an unfiltered Wi-Fi network and special SIM cards, allowing them to use websites and social platforms blocked in Russia. Russian citizens were barred from connecting to the foreign-only network. A similar setup was reportedly used at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2026.
