Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused European capitals of using an alleged Russian threat to bring nuclear weapons closer to Russia’s borders. Commenting on Finland joining a France-led nuclear deterrence initiative, she said the move could make it easier for Russia’s military to strike relevant facilities if conflict broke out.
