WorldPoll: Majority of Japanese favor dialogue with Russia over tougher sanctions
A Sankei newspaper-Fuji TV poll found that 54.6% of respondents want Japan’s government to take a more flexible position toward Russia, including calling for dialogue, rather than tightening sanctions over President Vladimir Putin’s visit to the southern Kuril Islands. A separate Nikkei poll produced similar results.
