Politics‘Whisky war’ brewing between England and Scotland
The UK government’s decision to grant protected geographical indication status to English single malt whisky has angered Scottish producers. The Scotch Whisky Association says English whisky is governed by rules “entirely inconsistent with the reputation of single malt whisky” and plans to raise its concerns with officials.
