ScienceWoolly rhino and bison fossils reveal Hulunbuir’s Ice Age past
Four fossils on display at the Hulunbuir Historical Museum in Inner Mongolia—two from woolly rhinoceroses and two from steppe bison—offer a view of the area’s Ice Age history. Both extinct species were important parts of the mammoth–woolly rhinoceros fauna that lived there roughly 200,000 to 10,000 years ago.
