WorldIndia to supply Nepal electricity after floods wreck hydropower projects

India has approved expedited electricity exports to Nepal after devastating glacial floods damaged at least 12 hydropower projects and caused shortages. Up to 654 megawatts will be transmitted for 18 hours a day through December 31. The floods killed more than 1,400 people in Nepal and Tibet, while thousands remain missing.
