For years, Russian cinemas have used the legally dubious practice known as “pre-screening entertainment” to show Hollywood blockbusters that cannot be legally distributed under international sanctions. The head of Russia’s cinema owners’ association says the practice could end within two to three months, as recent legal changes make state intervention easier.
