Russia’s current account surplus reached $33.9 billion in January-July 2026, up from $21.5 billion a year earlier, according to preliminary Central Bank estimates. July’s surplus rose to $1.7 billion from $1 billion, as goods exports grew faster than imports. The trade surplus also increased to $79 billion, supported by higher commodity prices.
