At least 50 people with deep financial ties to St Bartholomew’s Hospital are linked to Britain’s transatlantic trafficking of enslaved Africans, according to a register compiled by three universities. Commemorated benefactors include Jeffrey Jeffreys, Edward Colston and others who invested in slave-trading companies or profited from them.
