WorldFinland: EU leaders meet to forge new Arctic policy

European leaders are meeting in Rovaniemi, Finland, for talks on Arctic shipping lanes, mineral resources and security threats. The summit aims to strengthen the EU’s common strategic approach as melting ice increases access to the region and activity by the US, China and Russia. No formal decisions are expected, but the discussions will help shape the bloc’s forthcoming Arctic strategy.
