Andrei Rublev’s “Trinity” icon has been removed from the iconostasis at the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius while specialists inspect its climate-control chamber, RBC reports. One source says the chamber may need repairs, while a lavra source says claims about the icon’s poor condition are inaccurate. Other reports said the chamber was broken and humidity had reached 80%, above the recommended 50–55%. The Moscow Patriarchate says a scheduled preservation check is underway.
