Science‘Tidal wave’ of PFAS production to meet AI demand, campaigners warn

A campaign group warns that PFAS manufacturers are planning a “tidal wave” of production to supply AI-related demand from datacentres and semiconductor manufacturing. A survey found that nearly all of the 10 biggest producers intend to expand at sites across Europe, Asia and North America. Opponents say the chemicals, linked to cancer and persistent in nature, threaten human and planetary health and could undermine efforts to restrict them.
