ScienceWorld’s first pterosaur museum opens in Xinjiang’s Hami
The world’s first museum devoted to pterosaurs opened Sunday in Hami, Xinjiang, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology. Built in a Yardang geopark, the museum includes five themed galleries and two public-engagement halls. Hami has globally rare pterosaur fossils, with preliminary assessments pointing to remains of hundreds of millions of pterosaurs and other ancient vertebrates.
