Crossbench MPs including David Pocock and Sophie Scamps will introduce “red lines” legislation to prevent Australian defence equipment, technology and services from being used in ways that could breach international human rights obligations. The bill could affect parts made for F-35 aircraft used by Israel and would require companies and government entities to address genocide risks in their operations and supply chains. Labor is not expected to support it.
