HealthHow hot is too hot? Oxford study warns scalding drinks may raise cancer risk

A UK study found that regularly drinking tea, coffee and other beverages at 65°C or above may increase the risk of oesophageal cancer. Analysis of 977,282 people found the risk was about three times higher among those drinking “very hot” beverages than among those drinking warm ones, although the overall chance remains low. Researchers advised waiting until drinks reach a comfortable temperature.
