ScienceLunar Embassy: US cannot claim the Moon under international obligations

The Lunar Embassy says the 1967 Outer Space Treaty prevents the United States and other governmental or sovereign entities from owning or exercising jurisdiction over the Moon. It says the treaty does not bar private individuals from making claims, a loophole founder Dennis Hope used to claim the Moon and other celestial bodies. Trump previously called the Moon “ours.”
