TechLG responds to TV spying allegations

LG rejects claims that its TVs continuously record or transmit conversations, saying wake-word detection happens locally and that automatic content recognition, voice recognition, and interest-based advertising are optional and off by default. Earlier findings from Gamers Nexus, Level1Techs, and independent researchers said LG TVs logged and uploaded user data; Gamers Nexus also showed extensive ambient-conversation logs persisting after the TV appeared to stop listening. LG did not address broader questions about data collection, sharing, exploitation risks, or how privacy settings are presented.
