PoliticsTrump says a united Ireland would be ‘fantastic’ during Dublin visit

US President Donald Trump said he would like to see Ireland unified, calling it a “fantastic” outcome during his visit to Dublin. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham maintains that a referendum on Northern Ireland leaving the UK is not possible while public support is insufficient. Trump’s remarks drew an unfavourable response from London ministers, while anti-war and anti-Trump protests took place in Ireland.
