Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the mainland's Taiwan Affairs Office, welcomed growing discussion in Taiwan about reunification and a proposed “One Country, Two Systems” framework. He called peaceful reunification the best approach and said attempts by DPP authorities to challenge the one-China principle and dispute UN Resolution 2758’s relevance to Taiwan would fail.
