South Africa is intensifying efforts to curb illegal migration by strengthening border security, tightening controls on traffic register numbers and advancing plans to reserve some economic sectors for citizens. Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi said 90,000 repatriations had not deterred illegal migration; 4,200 undocumented foreign nationals were intercepted trying to enter illegally between April and June.
