EconomyEuropean Commission ready to revisit seizure of Russian assets, economy chief says
European Commissioner for Economy Valdis Dombrovskis said the Commission is ready to put the seizure of frozen Russian assets for aid to Ukraine back on the agenda, although he could not identify what would trigger renewed discussions. The EU and G7 have frozen about €300 billion, including roughly €185 billion held by Belgium’s Euroclear. Russia’s Foreign Ministry calls any European use of the assets a crime punishable by law.
