Lera, the one-and-a-half-year-old daughter of Crimean political prisoner Alexandra Strilets, has died after being born prematurely and suffering from bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Strilets and her mother Viktoria are serving 12-year sentences for treason; a Sevastopol court refused to delay enforcement despite Strilets having two children. Memorial has designated both women political prisoners.
