Russia’s representative office in Taiwan screened the Soviet documentary “The Defeat of Militarist Japan” for about 20 Taiwanese academics in Taipei. Taiwan says the private event helps China promote a narrative of rising Japanese militarism and seeks to divide Taipei from Tokyo. Its National Security Council said it is closely monitoring China-Russia cooperation.
