A NewNew Shipping Line container ship reached Murmansk from China via the Northern Sea Route in late August with more than 500 containers of automotive components, then began a return trip carrying 26,400 tons of potash fertilizer. An expert said the trial voyage is elevating Murmansk and its port into a major transit and logistics hub in northwestern Russia.
