The American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai’s 2026 China Business Report says business confidence has rebounded sharply, supported by stronger financial results, improved geopolitics and regulatory progress. Profitability reached 78% in 2025, its highest level since 2019, while 58% are optimistic about China’s five-year outlook. Domestic competition has overtaken US-China tensions as the top challenge.
