TechLinkedIn beats ‘BrowserGate’ lawsuits over Chrome extension scanning

A judge dismissed two lawsuits challenging LinkedIn’s practice of scanning users’ browser extensions, while allowing the plaintiffs to amend their complaints. Judge Vince Chhabria said they had not adequately alleged that extensions installed on their browsers conveyed private information to LinkedIn and doubted they could plausibly establish a privacy violation.
