Brazilian physicist Níckolas de Aguiar Alves examined the warp-speed tactic from Star Trek: The Next Generation’s first season. He found that a subtle feature of relativity, overlooked by the show, does not create a plot hole but makes Picard’s attempt to confuse an enemy ship with two images of the Stargazer even more impressive.
