The UK Foreign Office says London is aware that a former security guard at the British embassy in Moscow has been detained and is working to establish the facts. Russia’s FSB previously said the man was a Ukrainian security service agent who gathered information on British diplomats for Ukrainian blogger Dmitry Karpenko, allegedly as part of plans for terrorist attacks intended to blame Moscow and draw Britain into direct armed conflict with Russia.
