Insurance Council of Australia analysis shows Melbourne had more insurance claims for stolen or broken-into cars than all other Australian capitals combined. Victoria recorded more than 12,300 such claims worth A$244m in the last financial year, with a car stolen or broken into every 43 minutes and a home burgled every two hours.
