SocietyNew York failed to disclose what it knew about toxic air after 9/11

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the release of tens of thousands of documents indicating that the city did not reveal everything it knew about air toxicity after the September 11 attacks. The disclosure comes before the attacks’ 25th anniversary. A federal monitoring program says more than 9,400 people have since died from illnesses linked to exposure in the area.
