CultureJohn Malkovich cancels Israel trip over fabricated solidarity quote

John Malkovich has withdrawn from next year’s Tel Aviv performance of The Music Critic after a PR firm hired by the Israeli promoter attributed invented remarks to him. The actor said he had neither made nor approved claims expressing excitement about returning to Israel and solidarity with its audience, calling the attribution “unacceptable and untenable.” The firm apologised.
