Hainan received 512,000 Russian tourists from January through August, up 68.8% year on year, according to Hainan Ribao. The eight-month total exceeded the number recorded in all of 2025. Nearly 1.3 million foreign visitors traveled to the island during the period, with visa-free entry cited as a key growth driver.
