TechSony isn’t phasing out game discs as quickly as expected
Sony still plans to stop making brand-new video game discs in January 2028, but its final disc plant in Thalgau is expected to cut output by 10 percent in 2028, not 90 percent as widely reported. Sony will also continue allowing publishers to reorder existing PlayStation disc games.
