WorldYaroslavl man sentenced to 14 years over alleged photos of soldiers’ graves sent to Ukrainian intelligence

The Yaroslavl Regional Court sentenced 48-year-old Nikolai Shcherbakov to 14 years in a maximum-security penal colony for treason. The court said he secretly photographed soldiers’ graves from October 2024 and allegedly sent the material to Ukrainian security representatives. Independent outlet 7×7 called it the first known treason conviction for photographing military graves.
