ScienceGoogle update to AI weather model improves forecast accuracy

Google has released the third version of its WeatherNext model, whose major change is the ingestion of some satellite weather data to reduce the delay between current conditions and a new forecast. AI models can perform similarly to traditional systems while using far less computing power, allowing more frequent runs. The update is described in a white paper.
