A decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin adds anti-drone equipment to the gear that may be issued to postal workers, without specifying which employees will receive it. Demand has surged: commercial companies bought 6.6 times more drone-defense equipment in the first half of 2026 than a year earlier. Postal staff already receive some weapons, including 9-millimeter pistols for certain roles.
