PoliticsEU to approve Ukraine’s Patriot funding request on Sept. 11, officials say

EU member states have backed Ukraine’s request to buy U.S.-made Patriot missiles, with the European Commission expected to give final approval on Sept. 11. The decision would authorize part of a 28.3-billion-euro defense-loan tranche and about 6 billion euros in Ukrainian defense spending. Ukraine has received roughly 8.4 billion euros so far, amid delays in verifying purchase documents and a global interceptor shortage.
