World81st UN General Assembly session opens in New York
The 81st regular session of the UN General Assembly has opened at the organization’s New York headquarters and will run through September 7, 2027. Its high-level general debate is scheduled for September 22-26 and September 28. The session will address ongoing conflicts, the UN’s financial difficulties and reform efforts, while a new secretary-general is to be selected. Sergey Lavrov will lead Russia’s delegation.
