Russia has revoked the operating license of Germany’s consulate general in St. Petersburg and ordered it to cease operations by September 18, 2026. The Russian Foreign Ministry said all employees must leave the country by the same date, calling the move a response to Germany’s closure of Russia’s consulate general in Bonn and its Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin.
