EconomyChina’s forex reserves rise by $19.5 bln in August, gold reserves by 650,000 ounces

China’s foreign exchange reserves grew by $19.5 billion in August from July to $3.4383 trillion, a 0.57% increase, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange said. Official gold holdings rose by 650,000 ounces to 76.73 million ounces. The agency attributed the gains to shifts in global indicators, monetary-policy expectations, the dollar index, asset prices and exchange rates.
