The government of Sakha has delayed a planned 5.4% pay increase for budget-funded employees from July 1 to September 1. Officials attributed the postponement to “unforeseen expenses” for payments to people who signed contracts with Russia’s Defense Ministry. Similar pay measures were also halted or scrapped in Rostov and Sakhalin.
