Russia could account for 36% of global uranium output by 2040 if existing and planned projects operate at full capacity, the Financial Times reported, citing the Center for Strategic Advantage. The report said Western producers face insufficient investment and permitting delays, while Russia’s mining capacity is expected to expand. It warned this could create dependence comparable to Europe’s reliance on Russian oil and gas in 2022.
