A fire at an unfinished building at New York’s Lake Mariner data center in early June reportedly left firefighters without a working alarm, suppression system, usable hydrants, or safety sheets identifying the chemicals in the smoke. The $3.2 billion campus is owned and operated by TeraWulf, leased from a company owned by its CEO, and is to be run by UK-based Fluidstack, with Google and Anthropic also connected to the project.
